Your Career Change Starts With One Decision

Every student at Elevate Up Academy came from somewhere different — a factory, a restaurant, a layoff. What they had in common was the drive to build something better, and WIOA made it possible.

“I didn’t think tech was for someone like me. WIOA covered everything and now I’m working in cybersecurity. It changed my whole life.”

— EUA Graduate, Cybersecurity Program

Understanding WIOA

What Is the WIOA Grant — and Why Does It Matter?

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federal initiative jointly run by the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Department of Education. Its mission: remove the financial barriers that keep qualified people out of career training.

In plain terms — if you meet the eligibility criteria, the government covers your tuition. You focus on learning. They cover the bill.

✅ Elevate Up Academy is an officially approved ETPL provider in Texas — our programs are pre-qualified to accept WIOA funding through Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and local American Job Centers.

Common Questions

WIOA Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know before taking the next step.

Is Elevate Up Academy really on the Texas ETPL?

Yes. EUA is an approved provider on the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) maintained by Texas Workforce Commission. Our programs are authorized to accept WIOA ITA funding — your AJC case manager can verify this directly.

Can I apply to EUA before I go to the AJC?

Absolutely. Reach out to our enrollment team at any point. The actual WIOA funding approval comes from your AJC — start that process early and we’ll coordinate with your case manager once funding is initiated.

What if my funding doesn’t cover the full tuition?

If there’s a gap, our enrollment advisors will work with you to explore additional options. Our goal is to make sure cost is never the reason someone doesn’t pursue their career.

Do I need to already be unemployed to qualify?

Not necessarily. WIOA also covers low-income workers, underemployed individuals, and those on public assistance. If you’re working but struggling financially, you may still qualify.

How long does the WIOA approval process take?

Timeline varies by AJC caseload. Some students are approved in a few weeks; others take a bit longer. Starting early gives you the best shot at a fast turnaround.

Is the training really 100% online?

Yes — every course and resource is delivered online. Whether you’re in Houston, Lubbock, El Paso, or anywhere in Texas, full access with no classroom required.
